CIO Council The mission of the InternetCoast CIO Advisory Council is to provide the CIOs a platform for personal and professional growth across South Florida. The audience of the CIO Council ranges from Fortune 500, Global 1000 companies to the Small and Medium Businesses to the Educational and Public Sector Enterprises in South Florida. The overall focus of the council is to assist CEOs with: 1. Developing relationships with their counterparts across various enterprises in South Florida, enabling the exchange of information related to technology, vendors and products. 2. Sharing ideas across industries and technology platforms, to create solutions that work in South Florida. 3. Improving the IT talent pool by interacting with higher education institutions and to assist them in the development of programs curricula geared to fill industry needs and retain qualified prospects locally. 4. Creating a structured approach to interacting with the vendors and help in creating a value based ecosystem where the CEOs, IT executives and the vendors can help in achieving their mutual goals. To achieve the above mission, the CIO Council is organized in the following manner 1. Operating Committee - The operating committee is responsiblefor the day-to-day execution of the programs and initiatives. The members ofthe committee are volunteers who believe in the mission of the CIO Council and dedicate their time in helping the council achieve the mission. The Operating Council consists of: 2. Executive Steering Committee - The Executive Steering Committee will be responsible for defining the annual strategic direction, agenda, topics and the calendar for the Council. It will comprise of nine CIOs, three from each county (Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach). Along with the nine CIOs, the President and the VP of Programs will be part of the Executive Steering Committee. as non-voting members. The process of filling positions of the Executive Steering Committee members from each county is currently underway. We welcome CIOs to reach out to Jim Haid for further information. The CIO Council plansto host the following events in the coming months: - August 28 - Joint event with South Florida Technology Alliance (SFTA) - "Technology Roadkill 2.0"
- September 25 - Virtualization De-mystified
- October 9 - CIO Only- Event hosted by Greenberg Traurig - Data Privacy
